DUMALINAO BAYANIHAN GRANT!

This Report covers the COVID 19 Pandemic Response of the Local Government Unit of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur.

At the onset of the Pandemic, starting from March 17, 2020 the Enhanced Community Quarantine was effected when one (1) patient found positive until it reaches the total number of 5 with one (1) seven year old boy came from Dumalinao.

Checkpoints were established at Barangay Locuban and Barangay Paglaum, where the boy resides. Contact tracings were conducted, temperature checks recorded. Persons under monitoring were strictly and religiously monitored with complete data recordings of temperature and symptoms prognosis by respective personnel at the barangay and municipal level.

As movement is limited, specifically in barangay Paglaum, wherein basic and vital needs of each family are written on a piece of paper with a corresponding money to make purchases on their behalf was an assigned barangay personnel to do the errands, while all other barangays were given one (1) Quarantine Pass to do marketing while specific workers both in government and private employers were given Working Passes. Schedules wherein a certain day in a week only is assigned to each barangay to use their respective Quarantine Pass. The same is true in going out to Pagadian City.

Disinsfection were done at public places, foot mat is ready at entrances of Offices and spraying tents are provided for the purpose. Strict inspection were done at checkpoints with travel pass, IDs and quarantine passes.

Series of food packs distribution were done, by different public and private organizations including barangay, Municipal, provincial and even the National Government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (MSWD). Each food pack is inclusive of rice, can goods, noodles, eggs, dried fish, mongo, milk even with bath and laundry soaps, which were accordingly distributed to different sectors, families and households in all 30 barangay in series of waves starting in March, April, May and the last one in June 2020.

As of date July 1, 2020, Dumalinao, and the whole of Zamboanga del Sur is classified to be under MGCQ with 21 total number of cases, of which 16 is active cases, 5 recoveries and 0 death.
Isolation facilities are now in operation as two LSI’s were admitted for quarantine. The number is expected to rise as programs for ROFs and LSIs are continuously effected.
Urging everyone then, to act accordingly relative to the protocols being mandated to follow. COVID 19 has to stop. Let us do our part in protecting each one of us. Act responsibly!
